Playing Audios and Videos on sites that deliver streaming content, such as Internet radio, Internet TV, live or archived media download sites can be restricted using the CYREN WebSecurity.

WebSecurity offers two methods for restricting streaming content:

  • Define a policy which blocks access to sites that relate to streaming content category.
  • Define file type control to restrict download of specific file types.

To define a policy, follow these steps:

  • Login to the WebSecurity  Admin Console
  • Select Policies on the left hand side
  • Click on Policy Sets tab.

  • Under Policy sets select the Security Tab.
  • Scroll down to the Categories section.
  • Under Categories Select the High Bandwidth super category, the categories under this super category will be displayed.

  • Click on Streaming Media and Downloads category to change it's action from Allowed to Blocked.
  • Click Save to keep your changes.
  • Note - if needed update the actions for the other categories under this super category as needed.
