Missing plugin error outlplug.dll when launching Outlook

How do I fix the "Missing Plugin error outlplug.dll" when launching Outlook?


Outlook 2003:

1. Open Outlook.

2. Click Tools> Options> Other> Advanced Options> Add-In Manager > and uncheck the CSAM Mail Scanner, then click OK three times. Close and launch Outlook. The error should not appear anymore.

Outlook 2007:

1. Open Outlook.


2. Navigate to Tools | Trust Center... | Add-ins (on the left).


3. Ensure "COM Add-ins" is showing next to "Manage:", at the bottom of the dialog box.


4. Click [Go...].


5. Untick the offending CSAM extension.


6. Click Ok
